Moving is a difficult process for anyone to deal with. Pregnancy doubles this stress but it does not make it an impossible job to accomplish. Everything will go fine as long as you consider a few tips. For example you should get help from others. The more people who are about to help you, the easier your job will be. The formula is very simple- hands and stress are anti proportional. That makes the formula goes like this- the more hands the less stress.
Start packing as soon as you will know that you will be starting stressful moving house process, because pregnant women get tired easily and cannot do any physical work as good and as fast as before getting pregnant and therefore need more time to complete the job. The best is to start the packing with items you don’t use that much or you don’t use at all, like CDs, DVDs, the clothes which are out of season, extra bed sheets, towels, dishes etc.
It is extremely important that you take breaks while packing. Do not exhaust yourself to death because it is not healthy for you and for your future baby. And a good and healthy thing you can do while working on the packing would be to drink plenty of fluids. Pregnancy requires the drinking of more fluids than usual and so does physical work. So you can do the simple math by yourself. You can carry a bottle of water with you in each room you go packing, you can also drink juices. There is a huge variety of juices on the market so the probability of getting bored of the same taste is not a big one. You can also make yourself those amazing fresh juices from squeezed fruits and just sit somewhere in the middle of the packing and enjoy them while resting.
Label packing and boxes in order to know the content. This will make it easier when unpacking because you will know exactly in which room to unpack the particular box according to its contents. This will also be useful for the people who will be helping you with the moving because they will know where exactly to carry a certain box and unpack it in that room.
The last things you should pack and load on the truck should actually be the things you will most need, because when unloading the truck, they will be the first things to come out and therefore you will have easy access to them.
Keep in mind that you are pregnant. This means you should always let the men carry all the boxes. Lifting heavy stuff after the first trimester may lead to miscarriage so this tip is very important for you, your good health and your unborn child. You should consider this very seriously and never try to lift the heavy stuff you have packed.
And a good advice I can give you is to find a good doctor on the other side. You may even pay a few visits before the actual move; build up a relationship with him because eventually you will need a doctor after you move. It is good to play it safe, especially when you are pregnant because now you are also responsible for your future baby.
Apart from everything disregard yourself from the stress and take another point of view with all the packing and the moving. Pregnancy is a wonderful trip a woman sets for in her lifetime. A trip never to forget, a trip never to describe because it cannot be explained with words, it can only be lived. And just imagine how much more exciting you will make your trip with all this packing and moving because not everyone does!
